A Partner in Chaos
The temporary Brother His blond hair, fair skin and blue eyes mirrored my own. The cleft of our chins connected us to our common foe. The outdoor world our stage; our bond was our refuge and escape from that foe. That connection our source of happiness.
He knew no obstacles and his mentality was bullet proof. He climbed, jumped, rode, explored and built with an inspirating imagination. He was destined for greatness, but his spirit was snuffed out. The foe’s incipient grasp tightened; he was too young to know.
He had no chance, as he sought to be fettered. Sucked in willingly, but against his will. He was molded, by the glitzy yet subtle influence. His spirit and our connection were disintegrated. Deep inside his heart remained his own, but our bond is gone.
He no longer runs and explores. His pace has slowed His blond thins and sees streaks of gray. He no longer needs the refuge of a sister.
